Leadership ~ it can present as a subtle sense of confidence, and it can take shape in the tiny corners of one’s life. It can also be about making a decision from a different place in one’s mind and heart, and leadership can form out of learning self-reliance.
Girls who attend the Mainely Girls Leadership Camp will experience both fun and challenging activities. They will take part in outdoor art and bushcraft projects, and go on a day-long canoe trip. They will also go on a hiking excursion at Mt. Chase, located on the outer edges of the Appalachian Trail. Learning to identify edible plants, and cooking over an open fire, while keeping one’s tent dry and comfortable are the most important and basic skills of all!
The Jack Mountain Bushcraft School is set up for rich opportunities for campers to explore new outdoor skills, to make new connections, and to have personal time for inner reflection.
Attendance will be limited to 10 girls who are going into, or already in, high school.
